Supreme Judicial Council

The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) of Pakistan is a constitutional body that is responsible for investigating and taking disciplinary action against judges of the higher judiciary. The Council consists of the Chief Justice of Pakistan, two most senior judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and two most senior Chief Justices of High Courts. The Council has the power to investigate allegations of misconduct, incapacity, or any other matter that may affect the fitness of a judge to hold office. If the Council finds a judge guilty of misconduct or incapacity, it can recommend their removal or other disciplinary action to the President of Pakistan.
