In Pakistan, there are divided into two main branches: the superior judiciary and the subordinate judiciary. The superior judiciary is made up of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the Federal Shariat Court, and the five High Courts. The subordinate judiciary is made up of the District Courts and lower courts. Civil judges preside over cases in the subordinate judiciary and hear a wide range of civil matters such as property disputes, contract disputes, and personal injury claims. They also have the power to issue arrest warrants and to enforce court orders. The appointment of Civil Judges in Pakistan is done by the Provincial High Court.
